Summer School SF is trying something new. Part workspace, part studio, part gallery, Summer School is an active community space created by art curator, Renee Zellweger. "It's where we invite creative misfits to come play and encourage creativity, ideas and collaborations to come to life," says Renee. Located off the beaten path of the urban streets, the space is nested in a quaint two level carriage house in NOPA.
Design Goal: To design an open collaborative workspace upstairs and flexible event space downstairs.
Why this space works for Renee:
- The space is very personal. I love collecting (art, ceramics, furniture). It’s an amalgamation all of those things
- They listen to KALX radio
- The space is highly flexible and supports all of their needs to be a place that inspires design, editorial, workshops & exhibitions for the local creative community
