In pursuit of creative spaces, Peerspace is making unique, inspired locations discoverable for people everywhere to hold events, meetings, shoots and more. We've picked a few of our favorites to give you a look into how each space is created.
This bright loft space invites the sun to fill its open, airy layout. Designed with California modern and rustic beach house design sensibilities in mind, this is a clean, minimal, hard-angled architectural structure with custom cedar wood finishes--making it a truly unique California coastal cabin.
Some specific design features include: a first floor open living space, a second floor loft space with garden bed balcony, a custom welded steel floating staircase, interior custom whitewashed cedar panels covering the walls and ceiling, wet bathroom with sliding barn door and modern fixtures, an outdoor garden patio at front entrance with vintage white fireplace, and a small kitchen with Smeg appliances and Heath Ceramic tile backsplash.
Why this space works: Maintaining the clean, simple lines of the open and flowing floorplan, the space is designed to maximize enjoyment and utility by creating small areas of activity for different activities. Glass Bi-fold door systems on the first and second floors open up the entire space to indoor/outdoor use. Raw cedar "desk" area under stairs for work. Custom whitewashed cedar cabinets offer plenty of storage, while blending in with the materials used to build the home, and a Murphy bed folds up into wall to leave the option for sleeping vs. hosting.
