Set in the hills of Piedmont, the Storybook Tudor home of Kate Davison is a lovely assemblage of modern and vintage pieces. The cozy home for two built in the early 20th century in the Tudor style features artistic details like rounded brick walls, iron detailing and thick wooden doors. Kate offsets what could be a heavy, historic feeling home with simple touches and classic pieces.
Why this space works:
Kate makes great use of the natural daylight and Tudor details that the home is naturally blessed with. The living space has very high ceilings, so the challenge was creating small moments or 'nooks' into which people could cozy up. Kate is utilizing a simple, minimalist palette of neutral tones with occasional pops of color to brighten the living spaces. Ever patient, she also waits for the perfect pieces to appear on Craigslist or other sites where she finds great vintage accessories to make it her own.
